New Dark Eldar Codex ideas and speculation

since there seems to be no other place for this lets put dark eldar discussion here.

is there anything about the DE that ahs been confirmed or even rumoured yet? i certainly havent heard anything

There are some rumours, but nothing confirmed, on Warseer from Dosadi:

DE will come with an entirely new range of models (except for the jetbikes; I’ve been told these will probably stay as is for now...sorry). Don’t expect significant changes to the DE theme. They are still the light raider force and there will be only one new troop type in the list (hint....this troop type already exists in another list...duh). However they have re-tooled the less useful units to be more appealing. Mandrakes will be in every list (think units of mini lictors). Heavy weapons are gone (what?). All DE will carry Assault weapons (I guess this means dark lances will now be assault, ouch!). Splinter rifles will be 18” S3 Assault 2. Hit and Run will be a big part of the list with many units having the ability. I’ve heard that having a Raider will allow units to hit and run back onto it and fly off. I have no idea how this will work in game...or even if it’s true. It sounds a little farfetched to me. I wasn’t going to post any of this DE stuff as it came from some early playtest ideas that were spoken of in hushed tones at a Christmas party. It did NOT come from my usual contact, so I’m distrustful of its truthiness. But Smokedog made me feel guilty for not dropping anything for Christmas."

Harlequins aren't a troop choice.

They haven't even signed a sculptor for the new models yet, the army has to be completely redone. The hydra is by far the worst model they have out and the army is unfinished as is.

Agreed. The current DE models are hideous. Someone told me that I should have collected dark eldar instead of eldar. I said "not with their current models!" they laughed and said "Yeah, I can understand that". I'm looking forward to the DE update, hopefully it will see more people in my area playing it.

The current DE army is rediculousily good already. I dont see a reason why not to collect a DE army except for the reason of money shortage.

There is this guy in my local store that dominates everyone else with his DE army, he almost gets a 95% win rate every game he plays. DE troops and their capability to carry 2 heavy and 2 assault weapon ... 2 Dark Lances + 2 mini melta-lance in every squad.. that hits on 3+ too? 2+ invulnerable save on the HQ plus its independent character rule? Agoniser that kills even a T8 Wraithlord.. and every unit sergeant can take one? I've seen this guy taken as many as a total of 14 Dark Lances in a 1,000pts from troops, raiders, ravagers... and still got enough points to fit in 2 units of wyches and a unit of mandrake.. PLUS a webway portal. I won't say the current DE is broken but they sure are a damn good army to compete.

some of the DE range is really good some is not i just hope they will have the self control to redo the bad ones and stay away from the good ones

compared to current models they are bad,but then again i'm not gonna buy (or paint) another 80 warriors when/if they release them.
